Just bought a new pair of work boots, got them home, then realized that the store forgot to remove the anti theft device.
I'm not going back, because I'm way too lazy to drive back. What are my options? I need them tomorrow morning for work.

My idea is to cover the device with a ziplock and pry it open, to contain the ink.

You need a strong magnet to release it. I've had luck with the back of a large speaker, but it took some time.

Thats a bummer, I know aqua medic sells some extremely strong magnet scrapers. Just pick one of them up! :)

I may have to do that...or replace them with 550 cord.

Here's a pic of the current situation. I'm too scared of ruining the couch. Also the strongest magnet I have is the flipper.

How do I use the magnet to remove it?
