Skimmer newb needs help!

Is there someone who can come by and help me with my skimmer? Because I must have eaten some "skimmer stupid" pills and cant figure this stupid thing out.

its a SWC 160, and i just dont even know how to adjust the damn thing. I bought it used with no directions and ive never used a skimmer before and i am confused as hell

I'm pretty sure that when the dots are lined up like in the pic, it's skimming dry. Twist away from the open dot to skim wetter (more wet?)

Almost positive I have that right.

Mines has nothing like that on it its the old version

It has a sticker that says closed, but nothing to line it up to or to indicate a direction

The opposite side should be the open side, I'll snap a pic of the tube

If the skimmer was cleaned before use, it may take a week or so to break in so be patient. It may over flow on you so keep an eye on it.

Im just too stupid to connect the parts correctly! Hopefully that only applies to machines and not animals
