Ok I should be able to pull about half of what is in my nanocube's media basket...was gonna do that this weekend anyway. Won't be an impressive amount, but definitely enough to get some chaeto growing in the cube if nobody else chimes in.

Ah, got it. Other side of the coin, when you add shipping it won't be any cheaper on eBay. LFS has gotta charge what may seem high "for algae" (and other livestock), to help pay for all that overhead, rent, tanks, maintenance, utilities, etc. But worth it to help support a local non-corporate chain, imo.

I think that's pretty typical in most LFS.

Using that reasoning an LFS may as well not charge for fast growing corals either . We have this beautiful thread for people to snag chaeto from others who are outgrowing it, or throwing it away. But we can't fault an LFS for charging what they have to charge in order to cover their expenses.

Anyone have chaeto in the broomfield area? I could use some ASAP since my new tank is having some serious issues with CO2 (stupid high efficiency apartments) and nutrients. Otherwise, does anyone know if ER keeps it (since it is just down the street but closed on mondays)? Looking for a pickup in the next few nights.
