Went into Walmart for a few things and found myself near the paint and chemicals. The following is the conversation I had with an employee:
"can I help you find anything?"
"yeah, muriatic acid"
"hmm what's that?"
"well, I've heard it's for cleaning driveways and stuff..."
"we'll I have driveway cleaner"
"no, I need muriatic acid. I'm using it for something else"
"what are you doing?"
"cooking rock..."
"(long, weird stare)"
"umm... For my... You know what? Never mind"

I've heard anhydrous ammonia can be used for controling pH. Go into a feed or farming store and ask for that...see what looks you get!!! That must have been classic!!
