I come home tonight, and most of my LPS, and SPS's are toast, and all of the zoa's are closed up. Everything tests out ok, PH is a little low, but it seems to always be low, the only thing I can think of is something got into my bucket before I did a water change yesterday.

PH - 8.1
KH - 9
Nitrate -

What is the best way to test for a voltage leak in a tank? I can't turn off all of the pumps and heater, there are too many. I also do not get shocked when sticking my hand in there, and touching a ground.

Multimeter? I just stick both ends in the water. Be sure to read what the normal is ( don't know if that's what it's called, but touch the two ends together. See what you get, I usually get .04v)

Using a multimeter, I put both ends in the water, on the VAC 200 setting, as well as the 200M/10A/200m AAC settings. I also put the black into a ground, and red into the water. All tests with AAC were 0. For the VAC 200 tests it red 0 with both probes in the water. When I put the black into the ground, it read 22ish. I then unplugged all heaters/pumps, and tested again, and it was at 5. I plug one thing in, and it was around 12ish, then after adding my 2nd pump or heater (no matter which one it was), it jumped back to 22ish.

Everything can't be kicking out stray voltage.

I'm perplexed!

I think the damage is done but may want to do a 30% water change if possible. I wash my buckets with soap and water and rinse then extremely well every month just FYI. Sorry to man I hope everything pulls through.

I've been there, and it blows. If there's anything I can do, don't hesitate to speak up.

Re: What the #*(&%#@!!!

I'm sorry to hear this Allan :( If you need me to hold anything for a bit I can do that, as I believe I am still down the way from you off 470 and University. Lmk if I can help with that or anything else. Hopefully you can fig out the ailment quickly and save some things.
