You do not need to buy an apex aqua bus cable. You can buy a regular USB cable and they work. If you need more than 15 feet make sure you DO NOT get one that is active or has a amplifier in it. I buy all my cables from mono price.com and get 15 foot USB cable for like 3.45$.

+1 on Monoprice, I've bought all manner of network and A/V cables from them over the years and they are the best. Never had a bad experience or bad cable at any length and I've saved many 100$.

I read somewhere that a standard USB cable is not the same as the apex cable. It works but not the same.
