Spoke to mike at aquatic art a few hours ago. The yellow is a sunburst and is under t5's in very high light.

Yes chad still has a big massive beautiful sunburst in his sump.

All this info is great. If you see a lemon drop please let me know. I will experiment with both of my sunbursts for a color change

Ok both of these guys are "sunbursts" and both came from Ki a few years ago. The top one was kept under radion Gen2 while the other was T5.

My brother in Atlanta has "green" BTAs under 2x 250w 14000K Ushio bulbs that look as yellow as any "lemondrop" I have seen on the internet. The Ushio bulbs he uses burn very bright white, so you COULD pay a lot less for a yellow nem depending on what lighting you want on your tank His nems do still look green when the halides go off and its just actinics.

The sunbursts will turn "regular" color if you have them under full spectrum for long enough.

When you say "regular" you mean like a normal sunburst? What about a combination of t5 vote and led blues?

They are only yellow because they are being denied natural spectrum. Unless you deny the spectrum the same way, then they will change. Also, since nems can also get food from the water column and from meaty bits, it is possible that being fed or starved helped too, so it is possible that you will need to mimic the tank conditions as well.
