Well the great used Kent Maxxima RO/DI unit I picked up on eBay isn't turning out to be such a great find. It took the guy FOREVER to ship it, and when it finally arrived, I realized he split it up into two packages and one is MIA. It may or may not show up, but in the meantime I'm stuck with half of an RO, and no way to fill my tank. I have the main unit itself, but I'm missing the 3 clear filter canisters as well as the filters that go in them. I'll just buy new filters because judging by the condition of this thing, I'm sure they're shot. I've also got a new membrane and least that portion is accounted for.
So if anyone has 3 10" clear canisters/filter housing, I could meet up tonight. It's either this or buy RO and figure out a way to transport 50 gallons of water. Ugh.

Thanks, that's really nice of ya! I'm going to run by home depot right now, if they don't have it, I'll take you up on that.

Maybe this is stupid, but since I'm going to replace the membrane anyway, anyone know if I can just run the water straight through it? I thought I heard the purpose of the rest of the filters is to protect and extend the life of the more expensive membrane. It's not ideal, maybe good enough for an initial fill though?

I honestly wouldn't, chlorine is what kills membranes fastest. Mine has brand new filters membrane and di with less than 100 gal through it. Come grab it. Its 75 gpd so itll fill it pretty fast. Fill your tank n make 10 gal extra to have for top off till you get yours.

You're very unliekly to find clear stand alone housings at a hardware store. Remember also that the threads on one clear sump typically don't work with the threads on the lid from another housing - unless they both come from the same manufacturer.

Yep - used systems are a mixed bag unless you really know what you're getting.

The Home Depot here in Brighton has the canisters. Same price as BRS has them (~$40) and they have the filters and RO membrane (but they're really expensive...)

I have 2 extra clear housings from my spectra pure rodi that might work. Don't know if the threads are the same. The have a couple very small hairline cracks, but seem fine and hold water. I let spectra pure know and they just sent out new ones. I was holding onto them as spares but really they are prob just taking up space. If you want them for $5 each let me know. Ill be at reefstock on sat.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'd definately not want to sell anything that could fail.

Thanks for the input everyone! I hadn't considered the fact that the threads might be different. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but it looks like my package reappeared in the USPS tracking system today. So with any luck, the rest of the RO unit will arrive and I'll be set. Thanks for the offer Tabasco!
And a big thanks to xjmav, for letting me use his RO this weekend, so I could get water in my tank!
