Hey guys, I am the op of that video on you tube, i just want to let you all know its been almost a month an NONE (Zero) of the original Aiptasia that i zapped have come back.
This method is not only effective, but easy. I have been a laser enthusiast for years, and know the real power behind them. the Beam does not just "melt" the pests. its flat out dissolves their biological structure.

Think of this method as actually pulling your rocks out and blow torching the aiptasia.
Since this video was taken i have gotten a 1.2W laser that is waterproof, and will reach any part of the tank.
how much?

Always assuming there is an argument when none exists lol.

I personally would love to try one of these guys to see how it works. I have my peppermints for standby just in case somehow I have disastrous laser results haha.

Went to the original thread, got this quote from the OP.

Hi Agu,

We push safety pretty hard here. Except at the BBQ in Nokomis I always wear my safety glasses. And if you keep the laser up really close to (or even on) the glass of the tank, there aren't any refections. And pretty soon I hope to be aiptasia free, but not because of the laser but because my mueller's butterfly is starting to eat them. Yipee! But I'll keep the laser for 'other' aquarium work.
I didn't mod the quote in any way. I would like to point out, "And pretty soon I hope to be aiptasia free, but not because of the laser but because my mueller's butterfly is starting to eat them." CreatiVe2/Ron Reefman, can you explain?

Well basically from what i have read, once Aiptasia move in, they are there for (almost) good.
what i meant by that quote was the Original (6) that i zapped are 100% gone. None have moved in place of where i melted them originally. Some were harder to get than others, and this is why i purchased a waterproof host for my 1.2W laser. all in all, with the correct procedures and cautions taken - I feel that this method is a very viable solution to the "Pests" we come across in the SW hobby.

a side note: i have been into lasers for longer than the sw hobby, so I have had some experience with dealing in lasers before, PLEASE make sure these are handles safely - they will cause harm to anything living.
