clown fish suicide

#1
Iv'e now had 3 clowns jump out of the tank. My tank is fully covered but they always seem to find the smallest opening and get out. a couple times I've found them in time but eventually they have all died. Anyway I was wondering if alot of clown fish do this or I'm just really unlucky. Thanks for any info.

I have kept clowns for years and never had them jump. I have lost 6 fire fish and 3 chromis that way though. Full canopy with vented cover in back for the fan air flow and they manage to jump through the vents small holes. i miss my fire fish. :( I had a beautiful little school of em and the purple fire fish actually got along with em.

I've had hundreds of clowns jump out of their tanks.
Most of the time it's because they were being picked on by other fish.

I had clowns jump at nite. They slept near the top of the water. I think they got spooked. I had a ferry wrasse jump thru the smallest of openings from my covered tank. Sorry to hear about your clowns.

I had a clown jump too. I was able to save it and now have acrylic sheets over every opening on my tank. I see them jump once in a while and hit the acrylic still. I may need a grounding probe...

I have had one clown jump and I have an uncovered tank and have not had one jump since (knock on wood) and I know I have an electrical current running through my tank cause I feel it everyday but it does not bother the fish or coral so I have not replaced the pump that is causing it.I jump now and then when I forget about it!

I have eggcrate over my tanks now and haven't had an incident. I had a clown jump for no reason (wasnt being picked on, wq parameters good, no stray voltage), and this seems to do the trick. It does lower the light levels though, no matter what you put over your tank (.

I was feeding the other day and my McCoskers Wrasse jumped really hard and hit the tank cover, I thought he killed himself but just knocked himself more silly.
