I got two clowns about 2 weeks ago which are doing great but they are always up behind my powerhead so we never see them I don't know if they are to young to start hosting but that's the way they are acting I removed the powerhead to see how they would act and they keep hanging out up at the top of the water where the powerhead was so we still can't see them should I leave the powerhead out for awhile I have plenty of flow with another powerhead on the other side of the tank and what comes back in from the refugium and I also turned on my canister filter also for added flow so should I keep the powerhead out for awhile to see if they will host to something else or just put it back in?

I'm not sure how old the clowns are but I think they are fairly young.

I had a similar post a while back. Anyway 4 months later and the clowns still stay in the corner. Once they choose it's done lol

i tried scaring them too with a turkey baster but that didn't work they just moved for 5 minutes and went back. fish aren't smart enough to train. Or I'm not smart enough to train a fish...

I did the same thing with a net they stayed at the bottom for a little bit then the big one started taking attention to some frogspawn and a gbta so I left them alone and the lights shut down and back up to the top corner they went lol

I'm going to mess with them a little more tomorrow I was thinking about stacking some rocks up in that corner and getting that gbta closer to where they are hanging out.

Ok I took my net and bent it to a little more than a 90* and hung it on the corner and they moved to the bottom I think I'll keep it there over night and see what happens tomorrow.

give them time and they will eventually find a place not in the top corner of the tank. they just need time to settle into there new "house".

Mine have always hosted the top corner also, but I just switched tanks again (third time) and when they are looking for food they come up front. I also notice that after the lights are out they like to host the surface of the water. I have a bunch of fish, but nothing that is keeping them from going anywhere else in the tank.
