20 years into LEDs and there is still no way around this... you still need full daylight to render the best color in most true coral. Then, you can blue it up all that you want to illuminate.

Horrible false equivalency, but think of daylight as exercise, diet and skin & body care. Blue light as spanx, makeup, hair extensions. Both are great together, but without the daylight, the tricks don't last for long or work as well.

Even a few hours of daylight can do wonders. Mix in some IR and UV for best results. I know that the article was basic, but 350-850nm are great for coral color, and growth. Hubris of man to think that only 400-700nm matters since this is what our eyes can see.

The people who have used multiple bulb T5s have seen tremendous benefit from even a single 6500k bulb.
