I used some red slime treatment last night and my wife called me this morning a said the coral was looking horrible some were covered in slime I'm headed home from work now to do a water change any other suggestions?
She said when she runs the skimmer it just fills up with clear water in about 3 min

I believe most slime treatments will make your skimmer go nuts and even overflow. This is why most of us like natural treatments rather than chemical. good luck

I do have a fluval 404 running with a little carbon but I mostly use it just to get rid of cloudiness I'll have to check the brand when I get home

I'd throw a few xtra bags of carbon in, shut that skimmer off for a few days, do a WC, and buy a few votive Jesus candles from walmart and pray... thats what I'm doing, came back from vacation to see my old lady forgot to dose alk ( even had them in water bottles, add a bottle daily) and my tank hates me, so I guess I'll just keep praying.lol

How come you wouldn't run the skimmer?

Looks like almost all my snails died and my tuxedo urchin. All the fish look ok and the crabs are ok just not moving much not sure if my sand sifting star is dead yet but he is in the refugium and all corals are closed and looking bad except green star polyps and lunar eclipse polyps.

Check alk, and calcium. Low alk below say 8 is not good. Also, what is your ph? I may also look into running gfo for the time being to absorb and phosphate you may have. Then look into the water you are using for top off... Also, feeding and bio-load. How many fish? How much do you feed? Your carbon probably quickly absorbed the red slime remover... I don't think corals react well to the stuff anyhow.

Label says it can effect pH and o2 levels. Carbon, H2O change, I would leave the skimmer running so you can tell when it is done overflowing.

Good luck bro!! I'm pretty sure I got an outbreak of the stuff (red algae covering the sand bed). Got a sea hare for the bryopsis issue and it wiped out whatever the red "slime" was on the sand bed in less than 24 hours. Never touched the bryopsis though, then it died and started to nuke my tank! WATER CHANGES!! They seemed to have saved me.

Yep about to head and get some more water right now!
The only thing that I think I'm going to lose is my Hollywood Chalice a bunch of snails and a tuxedo urchin cross my fingers I hope that is it!

My ph was 8.4 cal was low 340 alk was good
Did another 10% wc but forgot to get more carbon while I was out do you think I should go get some?
Running skimmer it was filling up about every 3 min now it's down to to barely bubbling any more suggestions beside never using chem treatments!

Water changes are your new best friend. As for coral do any of your other best friends have qt tanks to help save what is left?

water change water change water change, stay away from all the snake oil, all they do it anything is cover the problem temporarily. There are few if any products that actually take care of the problems we try and treat they typically only mask it. Like Aaron says fix the problem dont NUKE your tank.
