How to keep macro

Hi all,

wondering if there are any secrets to keeping macro in the display. I've tried dragons breath a couple of times and find that it seems to get covered in sediment regardless of where it is in the tank and withers away. I have a mixed reef so I know the light is ok. Thanks for any insight

I find that most macros tend to be pretty finicky about light and flow. Caulerpas are easy and will grow under just about any light, or flow conditions, but I find that most other macros don't care much for reef lighting, and prefer light that is closer to sun spectrum, so more yellow and red. They seem to like moderate but indirect flow and they generally don't like other things growing in their space. Much like some more high maintenance house plants, each type can have their own specific conditions they prefer and sometime can take some experimenting to find what, and where, they like it in your tank
