LEDs or t5. CF will keep low, low light corals. Check out ebay taotronics. I use them on my tank and have great success.

You could probably do softies under that, but if you want LPS/SPS I would upgrade. If you can save I would bite the bullet and buy LED. In the long run it will save you money, plus they give off less heat, however T5 and Halides will do just fine. I did 2 250 watt halide pendants over my 75 and they grew everything I kept very well. Ideally I would have done 2 150 watt halides with 2-4 t5's supplementing. Just my opinion though.

honestly if you can't do hanging, id find a MH or t5ho fixture. the bulbs you have might be good for softies and some highly placed zoas, but for a 75g, to do any sps or lps, you will need to do a DIY LED upgrade to the current fixture to save space or get some halides over the tank.

Also just a note for future posting, this is classifieds, ie for posting stuff for sale or more specific want to buy. (EG "WTB 300watt heater.)

Lighting section is higher up in the forum section list.

PS: I vote diy LED's can give you a lot of control and choices and easily upgradable later or rigged into controllers.

Being a 4 bulb t5, it's not going to support much past lps. No clams, sps, or nem's.

true that... basically the 39w bulbs you have are about the bare minimum for corals. so pretty much anything and everything will be "better." if you're still in the building process, toss the light over top, cycle the tank and use the light for what you can and save for LED IMO.

I wouldn't say that.. I ran 4 t5Ho for several years and grew sps great at 22" under the water. 75 g is the same depth so should be fine provided you use ATI bulbs. 6 bulb would be better but 4 will work.

Hello and welcome.

I have a 48" 6 bulb T5 fixture in mint condition that I will sell you for $150. That is more than enough horsepower to grow any coral you want. Right now it's sitting in my basement. The bulbs were 4 months old before. I used it for a year before I upgraded to Radion LED's. Please PM me if you're interested.

I just want to get it out my basement and over someone's tank.

I'm running a 6 bulb tek elite over my 120 and grow sps @ the sandbed. 150 is a good price on that fixture listed above. Make sure you have good quality bulbs.

I'd be willing to part with my light as I am planning a larger build. It is a tek elite with legs. Pm me with questions and for price. I'll do a good deal as well.

Welcome
