Wow, that's crappy. With the spotty wireless signal I get at my house, that would be disastrous. Are they even prepared for the load that will put on their servers? I know their servers tend to be more reliable than the free playstation network...but if people are getting booted due to busy servers mid-game, there are gonna be some unhappy customers!

That and it's silly to assume people everywhere have internet. People out in the country sometimes need dish internet because that’s all they can get, which is one of the worst things you can get. Some families save up all year long just to spoil their children once a year on Christmas. Those parents who go out and buy this product thinking they just made their children’s year much better. Those people probably deal with dial up or worse. What happens when the kids get happy, plug it all in and realize they can’t play the game they OWN because their parents cannot afford internet? Likely the kids will know beforehand but still.

It's pretentious to assume what he assumed. That people need to "get with the times and deal with it" when most the world is scraping by. It’s calloused people like him that make me despise where we are today as a society. I certainly will not be supporting Microsoft in this decision. I hope Playstation isn’t going the same disconnected direction. I would hate to miss out on the next generation of consoles…

Oh I definitely agree...the reason my signal is so crappy is because I can't afford internet and have permission to borrow my neighbor's lol.

From what I heard, Sony doesn't plan on implementing the online DRM or blocking used games, as was rumored earlier. If they DO though, I'll be passing on the PS4 as well...I still get plenty enjoyment out of my PS3 anyway.

Re: New XBOX DRM

The main benifit of always being online is streaming or cloud services. I think its great to not have the huge hardware cost and rely more on the video game companies to help process the information. I'm a PC gammer so I already can't play used games .

It's one thing if it's optional and can provide easier access to software if the consumer decides to go that route...but to require online access to just be able to play a game you purchased on disc is a little overboard. It's definitely true that PC gamers have been dealing with this for a while, but that's why a lot of people (myself included) got off a PC and back on a console within the past few years.

Well that sucks. His arguments are not valid "I won't buy a vacuum cleaner because the electricity sometimes goes out"

I have to tether from my phone for internet, I already have unlimited internet on my phone why should I have to by internet for my house?

I understand the DRM issue, but the way they are going about it will only get people to jump ship or just not play altogether. I understand most people have home internet and this won't be a problem. I don't know about you guys, but I don't like leaving anything on.

Re: New XBOX DRM

I bet Microsoft dodged some heat by "not firing" him. Sounds like someone was fired and paid some severance to shut up.
