I know we were trying to get a group buy put together a few weeks back, and we were told it would have to go through a LFS. Well, I talked to the owner of Great Barrier Reef this past weekend, and he said he could sell them for $90 a bucket, if we had at least 5 people who wanted in on the deal.

I know it's not the same as the $80 Gonzo was going to do, but it's still a great price.

Aqua imports in Boulder has it everyday for a little less than this. You might want to hit them up, too.

Did you ask any of our other sponsors that sell this salt?

Not sure on pricing just thought it might be worth a shot.

Sorry, I didn't. The only brick and mortar sponsor that I have done business with is Elite, and I have only been there once. While I thought their store was awesome, living in Parker makes it difficult to get up there. In fact, I believe they are the only birck and mortar sponsor we have in the metro area. Or in the South Metro area?

The new owners at Great Barrier Reef have been great to deal with, and have offered to even host one of our meetings (I posted about that a while back, and didn't get any traction, so I dropped it). I have never used Salinity, but saw how excited everyone got over it when Gonzo tried to do a group order, so I thought I'd ask Warren when I was in his store this past weekend. On a related note, maybe we should talk to Warren about sponsoring MASC? It could be a win-win for everyone.

As far as the salt goes, it doesn't make sense for me to drive to Boulder to buy it at $90 a bucket. I believe everyone out south charges $110+. If we don't have any other sponsers out South, can we put together a group buy through Great Barrier Reef?

We will contact Great Barrier about the benefits of being a MASC sponsor.

Oceans Apart are a sponsor as well. They also give a discount to MASC members. I haven't seen any other sponsors who offer I believe it's 10% off of dry goods and 20% off of livestock. Pretty sweet imo

oceans apart carries aquacraft salt exclusively which they say is the best ...not trying to start a debate about which is the best salt just letting you know what they carry

Since you live in Parker, Essential Pet (by Cottonwood) carries Salinity and it is $89 a bucket.
(You might want to check out what they have for dry goods - you never know when you need something in a hurry.... you might not be so excited about the live goods (you'll see..)

better than its a$$ i tell ya ...lol...its a gimmick for LFS's sure but it is backed up by a guaranteed analysis on every bucket and some other fancy stuff ....personally if you dont want to pay for the high price stuff coral life is my favorite but if your going to spend more another stuff might as well pony up a few more bucks and get salinity

I started with Corallife many years ago, then moved on to Kent, Oceanic, and a few others. I then found Tropic Marin and thought it was the best out there. Fast forward to today, when I got back into the hobby I bought Tropic Marin, but with all of the press Salinity is getting, I plan to try it next.
