That's sweet. Can't wait to see the aquascaping. Let me know how much rock it takes for that beast ;-)

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement!

reefmaster - Just to give you an idea, their is probably about 250LBS in there right now and I will be putting in at least 100lbs more to complete the structures as I add more fish.

Evan - Wish I would have known you were going to the meeting Sat. I would have brought some macros for you since you were saying you had a hard time finding some. Let me know if you are ever coming up my way and I can make some clippings.

Awesome, I'll definitely have to take you up on that!! Thanks a ton for the offer. Looking at the size of that thing just makes me want to finish my basement. ;) What kind of fish are you going with...this is going to be a mixed reef right??

Yep, I am going to make it a mixed reef like my 75G. I am also moving all my corals from my 40G to the 450G and putting my anemones in the 40 so I don't have to worry about them moving around and potentially nuking the big system.

The fish I have in there right now are the fish from my 75G; melanarus wrasse, diamond goby, purple fire fish, ocillaris pair, bangaii cardinals . Along with a few new fish I have added since starting it up; powder blue tang, naso tang, Adornatus fairy wrasse pair. Planning on adding a harem of anthias, clown tang, desardjini sailfin tang, blue hippo tang, copper band butterfly, pair of mandarins, blue dot jawfish, leopard wrasse. and maybe a few more

Update: I have started to move the corals in because the few shreds of corals that were stuck to some of the live rock that went in right away from the 75G were open and happy. Seneye shows no spikes in ammonia what-so-ever, and in spite of adding a few more fish in addition to the ones I had in the 75G my nitrates have gone from 5 to 2.5 in the last few days.

Frogspawn and Cyphastrea moved from the 40G to make room for all my wandering anemones:

rock covered in eye of rahs and a few gorilla nips from the 40G and the start of a zoa rock that I have CARs,sunnyDs,black rhinos, and cherry charms frags glued and ready to take over. purple haze monti and frog spawn in the background.

Couple of the new fish additions; powder blue tang, a wrasse that was unknown at the fish store, but I believe to be a weedy surge wrasse, and a pic of my old diamond goby next to the new mansion he built in the new tank:

Warning graphic content! (if you are a snail)
Also, this morning before I went to work I see these strange white clouds in my tank. At first I thought it was one of the wrasses that had built a slime cocoon to sleep in, but then I realize the wrasse is not shedding it but eating it. so after a bit more investigation I realize my astrea snails have gone full orgy in my tank!!! All across the top of the rock work there was about 3 snails shooting out eggs in big puffs and 3 snails steadily letting out a stream of smoke like semen. I knew the likely hood of them settling out and surviving was super low, but I put my pumps on standby and took my skimmer offline just to increase their chances a little bit.

Update:

I have added about 150 lbs to the rock structures. I am liking how it all looks, but will still probably put about 50 more lbs to fill it out and have more places to put coral. I have moved most of my coral into the 450 and everything is looking really good. As you can see in the pictures I have a little cyano on the sand but I am not worried about it. Everything is still stabilizing, and I have some conchs and cucumbers going to work at it, I am sure it will go away with time.

I decided to add 2 AI sols in between the Radions to get a little more light in the tank. I am getting a little bit of a spotlight effect from the 40 degree optics in the center of the AIs I am not digging, so I will probably switch those out for the 70 degree. I am also contemplating getting the upgraded lenses for the Radions, I just don't so much like the idea of taking the whole light rack down and dismantling all the units.

PICS!
