Keep squeezing after pulling away!
Or get the glue on your hand, panic and rush to pull your hand of the tank in fear that you'll be a permanent fixture in your own tank!
Underwater glueing is a art/skill that I do not have!!

So I use the gel super glue, and put a good clump on the frag outside the tank - then put it inside the water, and the glue forms a bubble with a skin. I push the frag or plug where I want it. The glue bubble busts and it stays. I sometimes use epoxy to.

I usually start this way but never can get the bubble to pop so I end up 2 elbows deep squeezing glue inside the tank lol

super glue gel ftw....

best recipe = superglue gel + reef epoxy + superglue gel.....a sandwich of sorts... with a twist!

I use loctite gel. I've just been trying to glue things underwater so they don't have to be out of water at all. Today did not go so well... But it'd be awesome if the acro colonized the squiggle of glue!

ok ok ok.. heres how ya do it.... take a small ball of reef epoxy.. small meaning no bigger than the base of the coral your glueing.... think pencil eraser...put a drop of glue on it and glue it to your coral.... now put a drop of glue on the epoxy ball that is glued to your coral.... put in the water and on a rock you want it glued to... twist it and hold for a second.... done!

if this confuses people, think about a cheeseburger... bun, cheese, burger, cheese, bun... bun beeing coral and rock, cheese being superglue, and burger being epoxy.... and a twist of lime! the twist is because the superglue forms a skim as soon as it hits the water... twist it to break the skin.....

roosters FTW!

I'll try this, seems like it would work better for larger corals. I lothe trying to move colonies....

I use a similar method. Works great. Just try to not over due the putty otherwise it can become an eyesore IMO. I don't like seeing the putty, especially the white putty. So I use the purple putty.

I bought some from brs, I think. Most fish retailers have it. Altough I don't think I have found it at a local fish store yet. Maybe someone can chime in on that.

most fish stores carry it, comes in grey, white, or purple... and definitely use small amounts... no bigger than pencil eraser.

I got my last batch of purple D&D putty from Elite reef...they only had grey in stock for a while but last time I was there they did have the coralline color.

I'm a huge fan of the glue putty sandwich. Only thing to keep in mind is that it works VERY well, and if you are unsure about where you are placing a coral in the tank due to flow/lighting/etc, it's sometimes a good idea to use just glue until you are sure the coral is happy in that spot. I usually use glue, wait a couple weeks to make sure that's where it'll stay, then pop it out and re-glue it there also using the putty the 2nd time around. I've found that the glue by itself can be scraped/pulled off the plug easily...not so much when putty and glue are used together.

I use the glue-putty sandwich too. but I also put the tube of glue in the tank from time to time, when trying to cover up an aptasia, like I did yesterday.

Smiley, you're a genius - I tried this yesterday and it's 100x faster and not a single frag fell from where I wanted. AWESOME - THANKS for the advise.
