I need a chiller at least 1/4 hp. I have a clean used 65 gal w/ glass tops, glass holes 1500 over flow kit needs a bulk head, an iwaki 55, gen x mak4, a hob Red Sea Berlin skimmer... I don't want to trade it all, but maybe you need something I have because I need a chiller before it gets too hot in my classroom for the summer.

One of the stores in Boulder has a used 1/3HP Prime with the integrated dual stage thermostat for $300 - about half price but still not cheap. It has been there for a while... I can look again if you want. I have the same one and it will keep a 240 cool.

Do you remember which store? I'd have to come up from Aurora.

The one on 28th and Valmont. I get the names confused. Let me know and I can go by there today and see if they still have it and stuff... and I can get the name too.

May be we can help what kind of lighting are you running. Pump in or out of sump? Enough airflow on top of tank and in cabinet?

My plan this summer is if my tank gets to hot is to go geothermal with a single pump.

I thought the spike happened because of the warm weather last weekend, but it was running hot once the temp in my classroom returned to normal. I was having problems keeping the temp up so I added two new titanium heaters. Around the same time I extended the drains below the water level in my sump to reduce the noise and I also realized that some of LEDs were not plugged into my timer. So I know it is one of those three variables I am trying to narrow it down tonight. I think it is the heaters though. The lighting has been 3 x 250 watt HQIs with supplemental led and t5. The primary pump is an Iwaki 70 and the skimmer is run on a quiet one 5000 submersible.

Stopped by Aquatic Imports today and grabbed that chiller. Mike was the one who helped me and was great he knocked 10% off since it was for my classroom. Not a bad deal for what looks like a nearly new chiller plus I can plug my heater in and not worry about it running unnecessarily.
