That King of DIY guy on Youtube has a good tank reseal video. I'd do it for the piece of mind. I'm going to do it on the 155 Bow Front I just got, even though all of the silicone looks good. Like RJ said, it's cheap piece of mind and a little bit of elbow grease.

ya honestly the hardest part is just cleaning it up. Otherwise pretty easy and straight forward. Only takes a few hours to do. You shouldnt need to take the top frame off though

With big tanks like yours there are actually 2 parts to the seam, one holds the glass together that is actually sandwiched between the glass and the water tight seam which is the part you take out and replace with new silicone. If that makes sense.

What are you doing with the holes in the bottom. I have a 150 with dual overflows almost identical to yours and I would love to pull them out and drill the back.

I actually siliconed them back in place I have seen people put bulkheads in and plugging them or glue glass pieces to the bottom with silicone I drilled the back on mine to run a return as i am going to run dual Herbie overflows

Ahh okay, that's a really good idea. I'm planning mine out still so I like seeing what other people are doing. I'm going to reseal mine as well. Pulling the overflows might be the way to go about it. Would probably make cleaning them easier too.

Im not sure which of the GE silicones have a mold inhibitor in them, but thats the one to not use. Ive done three large tanks and used RTV 108 from momentive, best stuff out there! If you need any tips, advice, etc on the reseal, I can help. Its a lot of work, but the peace of mind is priceless!!

Really nice setup you picked up! Cant wait to see that thing all done! Congrats!!!

This may sound a bit crazy but... how much flow are you looking for through your sump? Maybe just put one overflow back? You’d get back a lot of real estate that those overflows take up? Just food for thought.

Thats GE silicon 1, which doesnt have a mold inhibitor, and can be used for aquariums. True Rtv is the best suited for tanks, but he wont have any issues with that one

So working on my shopping list for the plumbing currently going to run full siphon on the 3/4" side of the Herbie would it cause any issue switching to 1" after the bulkhead and into the sump?
