Hi, my name is

I may have been addicted for some time but circumstances have prevented me setting up a tank. I’m looking to setup a DIY plywood tank in the basement but should probably start with something small so the wife doesn’t think I’m a complete nut job...then again she knew what she was getting into.

Anyone got a smallish tank I can start with?

Welcome. Always lots of good used tanks coming through. 75g or so is a great size to start with imo ;)

Welcome to the club. I started with a 14g, then to a 29g, then to a 90g, then to 150g, now looking at 155g. I think something in that 55-90g range would be a really nice starting point. If you buy quality components you'll probably save money in the long run by not having to re-buy it over again. Good luck, keep us posted or start a build thread....we love those!

Welcome back! Yea, a 75 is about the perfect tank size! Easy to light, large enough to be stable, great shape for aqua scape and plenty of room for a good selection of fish but still not huge.

Welcome back! I knew I recognized the screen name but I was struggling until Andrew put it together for me. Personally if you’re going for a 4 footer I’d go 120 it’s always been a favorite.

I like the width of the 120, eventually I’d like to do something like Scott and do the plywood build.
I’m just looking to get my toes wet right now. There’s so much that happened since I had the last one up, I need to go read.

Anyone wanna volunteer to read me nightly articles until I fall asleep?
