Still need to paint the back of the tank to hide the plumbing but unfortunately going to look crappy like this in case of a move. Hopefully have it wet and running tomorrow and I’ll update the first posts and costs. Still need to hang the kessil a160 but most likely run it without lights for a little.

I love that rock, looks like a Bonsai Tree sort of. I have enough GSP to cover the bottom if you want, then decide what to put on the tree....might look pretty awesome!

Would your wife be happier if we built a simple stand for the tank and sump to fit into..?

Thanks for the offer Chris, I think I’m going to put a bunch of of different zoas on the base and let them grow out on the rock.

She just wants the tank out of the house so we can do the carpet and the garage is mine to set up whatever ha. Having a stand The sump fits in though would be nice but I like having the sump visible so I can hopefully do some type of cool fuge. If it was an open stand still be able to see it though....

Alright so added in some Tim’s one & only on Tuesday when I started to see algae and added in my clownfish. Will dose a cap full of my small bottle daily till it runs out. Hopefully pick up some chaeto tonight to add. Pics to come so you have proof that it happened.

So here are the pictures I promised of the clownfish. They are great looking fish and fat pigs. I’m feeding them heavy to get the tank used to the extra nutrients. First water change will be coming up shortly.
I’ll update again when I get the chaeto and the light for that up and running.

Them are some good looking fish. The more I look at your rock, the more I like it

I got them for a steal from Josh. I think $40 but with shipping it was more, I did get a bunch of corals with that package so I think I need to lower the price and divide it between everything I got instead of just putting the full shipping price on them. Didn’t think about that. I love the rock! Not cheap for a 1pound rock but love the bonsai look to it.

So yesterday I got the IM Spinstream that really helps eliminate the dead spot behind the rock, makes a huge difference with the flow. I also got some chaeto from @Dr.DiSilicate and plugged the grow bulb in that will run opposite from the main light but will overlap by an hour.

Turns out one of the clownfish is a jumper as there was no way for him to ride the overflow down into the sump. He’s one lucky fish he landed in sump and not on the cold cement. Had some acrylic tops for a 55g laying around so I threw that on top of the tank this morning when I found him.
I’ve also had an issue dialing in the ball valve and keeping the water level at a constant level. With me having to go into the garage to look at the tank I pulled the trigger and bought a gate valve to precisely control the water level. Lesson one learned from this build, don’t cheap out on the important things on the tank. For example temp controllers/ overflows/ return pumps/ flow control from the tank. I’ll be keeping the price of the ball valve I bought and will be taking out and add on the price of the gate valve.

Went ahead and added some coral into the tank finally and am really happy with how they are doing. All the corals are listed in the first post and pics don’t do them justice!
