Ok now that this is reopened I would like to comment on a few things.
We (Elite Reef) have nothing to do with threads being opened closed or any of the adminastrative stuff on MASC. We did not make any calls,PM's or emails involving this thread.
We have a legitimate unhappy customer. I remember the purchase, and I told the customer that I would take care of him. Our store policy is "no guarranty on livestock", but we do make exceptions to this at our discretion, on a case by case basis. This is one of those times that I would. I did not like the way the abalone looked myself when we sold it to him The abalone in question was last abalone from a small shipment, a different abalone then the type we like to stock. We, Heather and I discussed with the customer that we weren't too familiar with that type, and to let us know if it didn't work out. I understand his fustration when he called and was told we would not warrant the abalone. We take genuine care of the livestock in our store, and never intentionally sell anything that we are concerned about without a conversation. Since the store has a "no livestock guarantee", and it's posted in several places in the store, in our absence our employees adhere to company policies.
In situations like this, the customer is right, and justified in being frustrated.
