the ballasts are the same the hps just have a starter in them it takes a quick rewire to make the hps switchable for hps or mh so my plan is mh eventually i just have the one hps right now as for the output of the conversion bulb that im not sure of i do know that the conversion bulb is approx 500 watt instead of 600
