Salinity is at .018 and dropping I've been doing it over the last 4 days. I'm afraid I'm not doing it fast enough. I am letting the top off fill the sump back up so it happens slow. Just lost a striped blenny. I'm ****ed.

My salinity has been at 1.010 for 3 days and the ich is worse then ever. Why is this I thought the ich should start dying off. Lost 2 more fish left dammit.

Increasing your temp slightly can accelerate the Ich lifecycle and get you to the Tomont stage a little faster.

However, with increased temperature comes lower oxygen capicity in the water column, shouldn't be huge as the Salinity being low will counter balance this, but caution should be excercised.

If fish are still eating, soaking some good quality frozen food in a mix of Seachem Metronidazole and Focus, plus some Garlic Guard before feeding can help bolster the immune system and fight off the infection and any secondary issues that may occur.

Soaking some seaweed in Paraguard and Garlic Guard doesn't hurt either.

Great read Djkms. I think that the hippo is past the point of no return. I just want to kill this parasite at any cost so can get back to the hobby.

Also, ich is triggered to break out of the tomont stage and into the theront stage via hormonal triggers from stressed fish, therefor its best to QT beforehand to minimize stress on the fish, and therefore reduce the possibility of a hormonal trigger of another outbreak
