OMG Female mandarin goby!!!
Yeah. She's gorgeous. She is my wife's little girl, she has wanted one forever!! I have held off from getting one forever but when I asked them to feed the tank at the fish store she was showing I the rest in frozen food and ate a little bit so I got her. I have better pics with my DSLR but haven't had a chance to upload them yet. You seem excited that its a female lol.

Its a 30 gallon tank. Not sure 2 mandarins is a good idea in this size tank. You think it could work?

If there are no other fish in the tank other than the mandarins and the wrasse, I don't see why not.

Nice tank! I love the cubes! I was daydreaming about setting one up

It's definitely been one of my favorite tanks and like you I'm always day dreaming but I day dream about upgrading. I really want a larger shallow cube.

Dang I was told wrong. No need to worry about gender changing.
I know clowns and a lot of other fish do change gender but I had never heard of mandarins doing it. Good to know though.

Thanks Josh. I'm gonna hold off on getting another mandarin until I have a larger tank. I really want to come up and grab a few frags from you.
Smart move. Honestly unless you have a massive fuge producing tons of pods it's going to be a challenge keeping one mandarin alive in a 30 gallon, 2 would be next to impossible. I had one in my 125 gallon and didn't even consider 2 (which I now have)until I upgraded to my 225. I think a lot of times people underestimate how much these guys actually eat because they can wither away so slowly.

This is why I have held off on getting one for so long. Once I saw this one picking at frozen food at the store I jumped on it. My wife and I have always wanted one but held off and admired others mandarins but I figure since it was eating frozen we have a good chance at keeping it alive. Plus it will give me a good excuse to upgrade. " but babe we need a bigger tank with a sump to keep your mandarin happy." Or that's how it plays out in my head at least.
