Here's a picture you can use to show Blue / Super Blues are the same. The two on the left are supposed to be Super Blue, the two on the right Blue. They are the same.

Try shining them on a wall in a dark room. You should see a slight difference. I can tell the difference when I turn one on vs the other over my corals. The fluorescence is different between the two.

Definitely contact Felix and see what he'll do. My 30W driver has the same number (FLL-DD30W) as the current order and is 700mA (actually, 680 mA)

Ok, let's give Felix a chance to help. If it turns out that I'm somehow at fault, and Felix won't cover shipping, I'll cover the shipping cost for the exchange.

Crit, visually can you tell a difference when looking at the LED itself?
No. Both look the same with the power off. The wavelength emitted is determined by the contaminants in the silicon chip. There should be a slight difference in the visible light emitted though.

Let's run this one by Felix too. Should be interesting.

It's not like we ordered any 1W LEDs that these drivers would work with. If you are ordering from the same supplier, they should know that the driver they are selling won't work with the LEDs that are on the same order.

Agree. I was just saying that to Derek. We'll get things straightened out as much as possible.

Derek, do me a favor and get 2 pairs of 1.5V batteries. Hook them up in pairs to make 3V batteries. Do a side-by-side test of a bunch of the blues vs royal blues to compare the color. You may or may not be able to see a difference. If it turns out that he sent all of one color, we'll address that too.

Maybe I'll come up tomorrow and we'll assess the situation.

Ok so Felix says his assistant used the wrong label.

"the 30w driver which we sent to you, it is parameter is AC100-240V, and the current is 680mA, it can control 7-12pcs 3w"

does someone who has the 30w have a millimeter and can check? if not I can connect one here to the plug and check.

Also about the blues. He says they are different, but the human eye cannot see it. He says the reason you can see it with the Cree is because they actually go up to 485nm.

He assures me the packages made with the proper LED's we ordered.

Assistant...yeah, LOL. Well, if they light up, they probably have the right current and voltage. Somebody hook one up to 10 LEDs and see what happens.

As long as they're the same kind I got from him, the corals will look and grow just great.

The whole reason I started down this path (with checking label and calling Derek) is that I connected up 10 LEDs and they don't light up (They flash on and off). I used a voltmeter and the driver is putting out 85V DC. Will fry my LEDs in a series of 10 if I leave them connected...

Try 7 or 8 LEDS. You could be on the ragged edge of its capacity. Flashing on and off is usually an indication of overload protection.

Also double check the polarity of the LEDs. It's possible one is mounted incorrectly on the star. There should be a tiny mark on one side of the emitter indicating polarity.

I cannot tell the difference between the blue and royal blue. As for the 30w driver, it is only pulling 266mA with 9 LED connected, and mine do flash every two or three seconds as well.

For some reason, my email doesn't get mail when someone reply to the thread anymore. Odd. I thought no one reply to my post since Friday.
