MASC is the best forum I have ever joined.

My first impression of the group was good I joined up to find a used reef ready tank. Then I started to notice negative feedback about people joining just to buy and sell equipment.
Again not craiglist, this club is a community of friends and families.

The problem I have with this rule is I'm sure many of us joined with the mindset that we could buy and sell aquarium stuff.
By all means you can buy and sell equipment. But also contribute. Whether that help is helping a local buddy move something, or helping someone find a solution to a problem they are having(IE: looking around google or from personal experience), or some other thing. Help each other.

Also the other complaint is people over charging or low balling offers or offering to help for a fee. If you can't handle buying and selling goods then don't do it and if you don't like someone's offer keep it to yourself what your idea of a good deal may differ from what other people think and that's ok.
All deal making involving a monetary amount should be done in PM's. And if they don't want any offer they need to post Firm next to the price of the object they are selling. There has been some incidents of this getting blown out of proportion and the people involved need to sort it out in PM respectfully and like adults. Normally if you want compensation for helping out like moving a tank, my opinion is you ask for something like a frag or 2, or a favor in return. If you don't want to spend the gas to help them move either carpool or don't offer.

The last part is the elitist crew.........you make people feel very unwelcomed and act like there's this special click new people are not welcome to be a part of.
I would personally like to know how you define "Elitist Crew" and why you think they are unwelcoming. I joined in April/May ish and I have personally never seen or heard someone being what I consider an Elitist(IE: A person talking down to people thinking they know more than everyone else and only think there is only 1 way to do something).

I would also like to see members of the board held accountable when they are in the wrong.
Again I have not seen personally any incident of this. The only problem I heard of was someone selling Vortech's on this site and Craigslist for under MAT pricing(This is very wrong and unfair to the retailers).

Overall, I love this club. Lots of nice people that will help you out when you need it. From getting you good deals on used equipment, to helping you go get a tank when your vehicle fails(Scchase helped me move a 120g from greeley when my SUV's throttle line got stuck). I think if you apply your self more to making friends and building the club as a community, you would enjoy it more.

+1 to bacon bourbon pie. Sounds freaking bomb!

Just for the record this incident did not occur on the forum and was not a broadcasted public issue. Furthermore the sales did not include or involve any board members in past or present.

Lastly this thread has obviously run its course, served the original post creators purpose and has now become a battle ground for opinions based on someone else's thoughts and perception/opinion regarding the MASC community. Subsequent posts to the OP (original post) have resulted in flaming and this thread will now be closed and should anyone have any further thoughts and or questions regarding this matter, please feel free to pm me and we can chat either in person, online or by phone.

Again in closing....

MASC invites anyone and everyone to participate on the site as they see fit. It is encouraged to engage in the group as you can or want in hopes of bettering and strengthening the depth of experiences of the community, but again is this by no means a requirement. We hope that those of you whom find value in the site, community and what it has to offer will join us as you can not only here on the forum but also at our meetings, fundraisers and conferences. We are all on this site because of our interest, love, enjoyment and or passion for the hobby and it is important that we maintain that as the first and foremost emphasis when dealing with anything related to the group. Lets continue to help the hobby grow here in Colorado and lets encourage others to join us in this awesome and amazing hobby.
