Ok...got it figured out. Leave it to Apple to make things complicated,

. Followed the Apex manual and some threads on the Neptune forum to make sense of it all, and I can now access the Apex remotely. The only crappy part about it is that the Apple Airport Express router doesn't support automatic updating through dyndns...so I had to download an updater program...which means the computer will have to be left ON if/when I go on vacation and want to reliably access the Apex. Oh well...
I guess there's a workaround where you can use a webcam on the network to take care of the dyndns updating...hmmm...I guess that's a good excuse to hook up a camera to the tank.
