Great thread, I'm so out of touch with skimmers and I learned a lot just from the 1.5 pages here. My old Etss skimmer has done well i guess, but I'm kind of getting tired of the large pump(noise) and constant fiddling. If anyone has a extra skimmer I can play and compare too I'd love to try something else. My reef is a heavily stocked 72 gal + 40 gal sump. What determines a better skimmer? If installed as a second, would it not skim if its inferior?

Tia 1220 cone. it's the middle sized cone skimmer.
The one I picked up is a 1150, and I am currently running a G2. If I were guessing, I would say the 1150 is just a little better then my G2, if your 1220 is a little better then the G3.

Anyone using a Nac7?

Dave - On a side note, if I don't end up using the 1150, it may be a good upgrade for you. They are supposed to be super silent.
