So....now that I am no longer using the Apex Dos for dosing 2 part, I think I might set it up for Auto Water Changes.
Today I carefully measured my SW mixing bin at 24g and made a mark. My salt mix (Instant Ocean) says 1/2 cup per gal so I mixed that all in. I'm going to let the pump circulate that for a while, then I want to test the SG, Alk, Cal, and Mg so I have a baseline and then add to the mix to get my desired levels.
I'm thinking along the lines of 2 gal swapped out per day, I'm sitting at 225g of total water volume. Thoughts? More, Less, about right??
I am terrible at regular water changes. My last box of salt mix, which makes 200g, lasted me 12 months, so I did about 8 water changes at 25g each in 12 months. If I can mix up fresh mix of salt about every 12 days I should be good, that would be about 30 water changes at 24g each (2g per day takes 12 days to use up my 24g, 365/12 = 30.4 water changes.)
Thoughts/suggestions?
