Fish for Sale - Shutting down Larger Tank

Emperor is gone. Blue/Gold line rabbit on hold. Also have a Blue Spot Puffer at about 1.5 inches. Had it in my reef and it went into the trap when I caught a bigger fish. Forgot that I had it. It is not shy and fun. $50

Fish for Sale - Shutting down Larger Tank

That is fine. Just hollar. Bring a bucket and a large net if you have one. I might need help catching it, even though I am pretty good. I said this before and I caught the queen in less than 5 seconds who just kinda seemed to let it happen. I won't get as lucky the next time. :)

Fish for Sale - Shutting down Larger Tank

Ironically, when this Imp was 1 inch and eating well, it went into my reef with a nearly fully grown chrusyrus. Same with the queen and most of these other fish. The Chrysrus is smaller at full size, so it never had to move to a larger tank and can spend its whole life in the 8' tank. I have...

Fish for Sale - Shutting down Larger Tank

I did not take any photos. Glass is dirty and water is cloudy without any rock and stuff. Would be hard to get good photos. The blue line rabbit was Caprive Bred from ORA. I am nearly positive. Biota has similar ones how, but this was ORA - ORA could have gotten them from Biota for all that...

Fish for Sale - Shutting down Larger Tank

I have had all of these fish for years and most were about an inch when I got them. All eat anything, but a staple of NLS pellets. Both of the rabbits ate bubble algae since I never had any when I had them in the reef - one of them at bryopsis, but I cannot remember which. All of these fish...

    Ati sunpower 48in 8 bulb

Lastly, don't believe any of the BS that you might see about USA and EU banning reef T5 bulbs. There are SOME general purpose bans, but most of these are being pulled back for T5 anyway. Specialty T5s are not on any ban lists and at least Giesemann and ATI have committed to making them as long...

    Ati sunpower 48in 8 bulb

With 6 foot tanks, people usually use a 48 and 24 inch, two 36" or try and find a 60". While T5 are great, they are not really known for filling in 12 inches on each side over a 6 foot tank. Black Friday sales are when people usually get their T5 bulbs. If you are flexible on colors and...

    Ati sunpower 48in 8 bulb

You can use the bulbs for 2 years in a ATI with the fans and stuff. People are using them for 2 years in other fixtures too. Even if you want to be cautious, you can easily do 18 months. I would do 24 months even over my acropora, but I also use my MH bulbs for 2 years too without any issue...

I scavenged some parts off of it and it got recycled.

    Issue with changing salt mix?

The uniform particle size is a joke. The weight is more important and so is the ability to attract/bind moisture which changes things even more. This is what really makes salt need to be dry mixed. Dr. RHF has talked about it for years. In large systems or if you mix large amounts, it...

    Issue with changing salt mix?

I know that BRS did some testing on salts and say that dry mixing is not needed, but they also used new salt sent directly to them and did not really test any far traveling kinds - this test was more stupid than most of their stuff. You NEED to dry mix all salt, or use the whole bag. This is...

Want to buy interceptor for black bugs

If you know a real vet and not a glorified anal-gland squeezer and nail trimmer, you can show them the original research from Dustin Dorton from ORA and they will likely prescribe you some. Explain that this particular bug needs 4x the dosage amount. Most vets are subsets of the profession and...

Battle Corals and Aqua SD Group Buy

Probably too late for this go around, but a huge battlebox and a snake draft has been fun for clubs in the past. Heard of a club that got something like 80 corals and 10 people drafting. Adam does not ship turds, so everybody was happy.

    Reefbuilders article

Many of the best hobbyists have been saying for decades that full-spectrum light and heavy export to match the heavy import were the keys to their tanks. Most of them still operate that way today. It is too bad that they have no interest in contributing online anymore, and I don't blame them...

    Issue with changing salt mix?

Check your batch number on the TM salt. There are well known issues with some bad batches. TM has to travel a long way and it can settle. Always dry mix it before you use.

    Echinata Acropora

Other than Hawkins, your only hope might be a wild colony or a frag from a wild colony from an Aussie Shipment. I have had Ice Fire for a long time and it has not stood up well to the way that most folks want to keep their tanks nowadays with high residual building block levels, stripping out...

    Skimming Question

You have to find a way to do efficient gas exchange and also remove heavy metals that you introduce in food. Skimmer is a good way to do these two things, along with organic removal. Skimmer is not necessary, but you have to find a way to do these things.

    Question ??

Bleach just kills organics. It does not remove them or break them down. Some things might have rinsed away from the rock, but the majority is still in there.
