Can't wait to see those guys cruising in that tank...man that thing's a beast. Scape looks great in person too, jealous of all that room you have to build. :)

The tank looks great and I'm very impressed with the woodwork on the stand and canopy. Those are some precise fittings.
Thank you. I did the best I could with the fence pickets. They are not the best cut of wood ever

You're welcome.
Can you give me your thoughts on why you didn't do a closed loop?
Also, did you use 2x2s to frame the canopy?

Side note: I just noticed the clown in ol' Captain Spauldings mouth.

Its hard to drill a new tank with a warranty for a closed loop. Plus I have more control with mp40s and my wave box.

Yes I used 2x2s for the frame. Keep it light in case you have to remove it. Also still strong enough to handle the weight of the lights

Thanks Mike.
I'm going to keep firing off questions since your tank is similar to what I'm planning for.
Warranty aside, would you have done a closed loop or do you like the versatility and control found in mp40s better?
Do you think over time the canopy might sag?
I might be wrong here but did you use cedar for the main 4x4s on the stand? If so, can you expand on why you selected that type of wood?
