Yeah, I think they have done the same episodes the last two seasons in a row. Im hoping for sharks jumping through hoops on fire or something cool like that.

The first year was cool but now they just repeat all episodes. How many shows can you make about great whites jumping out of the water.

I love shark week, good for public awareness, I wonder if they show it in Japan? If not they should.

The Japanese don't care about marine life. Between shark finning, mass dolphin killings and whaling they prove it all the time. This is why I could care less if the whole island had had a melt down after the earthquakes. Karma is a MFer.

Excellent first episode. I like how they put the opposite spin on it from previous series and made it so sharks are not the terrible man eating predators all think they are. Kind of neat how they had tracking of sharks in heavily populated beaches and no attacks mentioned, nor did people even see them. Never forget my experience in Maui while surfing.

It's good news great whites are having a come back since it's estimated that %80 of sharks (all species) are gone. It's also good the seals are back to.

What happened in Maui?
So I surfed in SoCal for most of the time I lived there. Now of course I miss surfing on a daily basis, it has been 10 years since I lived there. Now whenever I am near the ocean I make it a point to catch a few waves. In maui several years ago I was longboarding with my dad at gaurdrails. My dad headed to shore for a break and I was out in the water with 1 or 2 locals alone. It was early morning and the conditions weren't great but when there is no one to battle for a wave it is perfect imo. As I was paddling back out after a nice what felt like a good 1 minute ride on a right(my favorite) a large fin surfaced out of the water for a brief moment about 10 feet from me. It went back down as quickly as it came up. Looked like a white tip but I wasn't certain. I have surfed long enough to know it wasn't a dolphin as I have seen many of those up close. I pretty much instantly froze on my board and had no idea what to do. I did my best to keep my feet and hands out of the water as I was a good 75-100yds out and there was no way I was making back to shore quickly. Ended up asking one of the locals about sharks in the area, he just smiled and said they won't bother you as long as you don't bother them. Fair enough, ended up catching a few more waves and called it a day.

Well, so much for the twist of sharks not out to eat people. This episode on rogue sharks is out of control. My kids won't even go in the swimming pool probably after this one.
