Absolutely. One is a filter feeder and the other an algae eater. You'll need to feed the whale quite a bit creating a lot of excess nutriant in the tank... That will promote excess algae, this is where the tang comes in. You see, most tanges , particularly the bristle tooth are ravenous algae eaters. It's the perfect match.
