Lol yah. The petco up here in Fort Collins is pretty good about keeping the fish fairly healthy. The tangs there are a different story :p They currently have 4 purple tangs there all icked up.

Let me guess - not a bare bottom tank, nor a drop of copper. I wish Petco cared more for the livestock.

On a side note - Did you decide if you were using the algae scrubber you made?

Yah the petco tanks have much to be desired. But shipment days are when I go so they don't touch the petco systems.

I was using the algae scrubber for a while but my system has caught up and I have gotten to the optimal feeding amount for my fish, so I don't need to run it any more.

I am now using the typical refugium for export.

Algae scrubbers are definitely awesome though. IMO a better option over biopellets or carbon dosing. and cheaper to get. you can normally build an algae scrubber for about $30. Most of that being a MJ1200 pump.

Love the pics and this thread. Whats the egg crate in the bottom of the tank for under the rock? Jaubert ???

to displace the weight of the rock. I had a pistol shrimp that liked to collapse rock stacks.

I got one a few weeks ago from Coral xpressions, 20 bucks and he's doing great. I target feed him daily with mysis and caviar as well as broadcasting coral foods at night. I too have read a lot about short life expectancy and it was kinda big leap but I took it and so far so gewt

Is a shame about yours being eaten. How long did you have him before the incident?

So saw Josh's rockscape in his 150g cube and absolutely loved it. So I am thinking I might redo my rockscape to allow for more flow behind the rockstack. And make more room for sps corals.
