So working on my shopping list for the plumbing currently going to run full siphon on the 3/4" side of the Herbie would it cause any issue switching to 1" after the bulkhead and into the sump?

Umm i dont see. An issue with this but why? All 3/4in plumbing is cheaper.

Fyi you NEED gate valves in order to do a herbie do not try ball valves

Ok I already knew about the gate valves and only reason I wanna do 1" is because that is the size of the bulkheads in my sump and I want to keep it looking as clean and uniform as I can

Personally just put the 3/4in pipe through the 1in bulkhead. Imo

I don't think this would be a problem because it's before the gate valve and running as full siphon.

It shouldnt affect flow much to go up in size, but can potentially add some turbulence as it transitions to the bigger pipe, and then could splash more coming down to the end

Wondering if I buy a few of the 8x8x4 marinepure blocks if anybody would let me keep them in their sump until I get water in my tank which should be in the first couple weeks of October

Put them in a tote with a power head. Then pee in it. You will have plenty of bacteria and no hitch hikers.

This^

Though I prefer to seed it with dr Tim's or biospira and then "feed" the tote by adding a couple pellets each day to maintain a consistent ammonia source.

You are welcome to put them in my sump. Or just in a bin with some live rock you have will work too. You’ll need to feed it with some nitrogen like stated above.
